Tool 4: Feel Your Feelings in Your Body Not Your Brain

Hello, my plush petunia! 

Most of the time we're thinking about our feelings - not actually feeling our feelings.  

As distinctions go, this can be deeply aggravating. But it's a level of awareness that will serve you so beautifully that it's worth dancing with a little annoyance. 

Homework: Next time you have a feeling, find that feeling in your body. Put your focus gently on the part of your body where the feeling is showing up. Feel the actual sensation of it. Don't think about it or judge the feeling or yourself for feeling it, just let that emotion pulse through your physical body.
