how to feel your feelings & Transform your life
1: Breathe
To play with:
Breath is always where to start. Holding the breath is our body’s way of trying to halt the flow of emotion, the body trying to regain a measure of control. Drawing in a deep breath allows oxygen to flow through our blood and our brain, and helps release what we’re carrying, physically, mentally, energetically, and emotionally.
When in doubt, take a minute or two to breathe deeply. Notice how much better you feel.
2: Learn the Language of your Body
To Play With:
Be aware of where your feelings are showing up in your body. Notice if you’re having judgment about it - of course it’s okay if you do have judgment (Hi, we’re human!), you just don’t want to get caught in that judgment or give it extra fuel.
Instead, drop into your body and feel the physical sensation, whatever it is, and spend a few minutes with it.
And see how much faster you feel better.
3: using light
To Play With:
Whenever you feel overwhelmed or bowled over by emotion, or like you just don't know what to do with it, call in some light. You can practice this deeply comforting and healing ritual by watching this week's video or listening to the meditation.
4: peace
To Play With:
When you feel a deep or heavy emotion that you don't know what to do with, ask for help. Ask for the way to peace to be shown to you - and pay attention to what shows up.
5: What To Do With Fear
To Play With:
Whenever you find yourself in a fearful space, try one of these three techniques (works on all other emotions as well!):
Treat the fear like a friend, simply be with it and listen to what it has to say
Draw the fear through your heart, transforming the fearful energy into an energy of love
Feel the fear as simple sensation moving through your body
6: downward spirals and the feelings hangover
To Play With:
Next time you find yourself in a tsunami-like downward spiral of feelings, do whatever you need to do. Cry, scream, dance-flop around like a manic muppet, lie on the floor. Whatever feels right. Somatically moving energy through your body is powerful magic, helping to process stored trauma and transmute energy.
Afterward, when you feel a bit better, you can relax or do something distracting or call in comfort and healing. Listen to soothing audio meditations, ask for love and light, and be gentle with yourself. You've got this.
7: Clearing Cords from your Energy
To Play With:
Cord clearing is a godsend for delicate peonies like us. I go through periods where I’m clearing cords daily - especially after intense conversations, parties, or being in any type of crowd. Do this daily for a week and see how you feel. You can also play with cord clearing whenever you're obsessing over a specific person or feeling fuzzy or overwhelmed.
Here's the transcript of what I say. Feel free to adjust, alter, and play with this until it feels good to you:
Dear guides (spirit, god, angels, universe, whatever), please remove any and all cords from my energy, gently and safely, tie them to angel energy and send them to a place where they may be transformed. Please fill any holes with healing violet flame. Thank you.
Please now call back any and all of my cords and energy from any place, person, or event where it may be. Please remove it, gently and safely, sending to the light which may be transformed and returning to me that which is appropriate to be returned. Thank you.
You can also simply visualize light of whatever color feels right moving over you and detaching any cords from your energy and dissolving them in a stream of light.
It's alarmingly easy for empaths to take on other people's energy, so cleaning it out regularly will keep you feeling clear and happy.
8: Rebuilding Your Energetic Shield
To Play With:
Here’s where we do some powerful work to rebuild your energetic shields. This is a big one, my friends. :) I've only done this kind of work one-on-one with clients, so I'm excited to do it in this format - because shoring up your energetic protection can have a truly profound impact on your life. This is deep work, so be sure to drink plenty of water and allow yourself to rest after the video if needed. And be sure to use the accompanying audio for daily upkeep of your new energetic space.

9: Ball of Love
To Play With:
Plug into your internal source of love and self-worth and connection. The more you do this, the more your life will change - and the more magnetic you'll become. Especially since you know you don't need love or validation from external sources, because it's already within you. This is a beautiful practice and will shift your entire reality when you make it a daily practice.
10: Visioning what we truly Desire
To Play With:
If you have a desire, you already have the means to fulfill it. But this concept asks us to have a deep faith in ourselves, in our life, and in the universe. In order to really call in our dreams, we need to feel how we want to feel when we receive these desires. If you want more love, feel that love now. If you want to feel more excited about your work, feel that excitement now. This can take some practice, but it may be the one best thing we ever do for ourselves, allowing ourselves to have the feelings we want to have, right now. Because those feelings come from within us. Always.
You can also play with writing down what you’d like to experience in any (or every :) area of life and attach a positive emotion to it as you read it back to yourself. Really sit in those feelings, bask in them, and that will set the manifestation in motion.
11: Gratitude
To Play With:
Gain a deeper understanding of how gratitude feels in your body. Know that it's a sensation you can call on no matter what's happening externally. Gratitude eases your mind, feeds your soul, and acts as a magnet for good things.
Note about gratitude: Sometimes I just can’t get there. I try to feel gratitude and I just feel annoyed and cranky. This doesn’t mean I’m a bad person, it just means I’m trying to sparkle gratitude over some feelings that need to be felt. If gratitude doesn’t come naturally, don’t try to force it. Instead, ask yourself what feelings you’ve been repressing and how those feelings want to be felt or expressed. Once you’ve moved through the feelings, the resistance dissolves and gratitude floats up to the surface.
12: Daily Practice
To play with:
The more we anchor in a daily practice that supports us in moving through our feelings, the more powerfully and clearly we can move forward. This can look any way you want, and - if you’re like me - can change regularly. It might look like meditation one week, a morning walk the next, three months of morning pages, or daily journaling or card pulling or crazy dancing. Whatever feels right and supports you and your tender feels.
13: Next Level of Feeling and Creation
In conclusion:
Your emotional journey will span your entire life - that’s part of being human, and what we all signed up for. (Whether or not we’re thrilled about that right at this moment.) But know that as you begin to wrangle your feelings with more grace and ease, you will become a light and an inspiration for those who are still in the dark, who don’t know their own sensitivity, their own power. You will light the way for those who need it.
As you clear out your own energy and feel the love that you are and have always been, you will raise the vibration of your own life - and that of the world around you.
This is deeply important work, because it’s hard to face your demons and your dark places - and it takes a brave soul to dive in. So congratulations for being the bold, loving, gorgeous beings you are. Thank you for lighting up our world.
